I don’t know about you, but I am DEFINITELY not a morning person. If you are in the same boat as I am, I am so very sorry. But, I do have a few tips I can share that might make your morning just a little bit more bearable.
1. Don’t set your favorite song as your alarm! For me, this is the absolute worst thing to do. I mean, it sounds great in theory. Wake up and be able to sing along to some What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger. I mean, talk about motivation for the day. But instead of waking up to sing along, I usually end up singing along in my dreams!
3. Choose your outfit the night before. It takes so much thought and effort (two things which I am sorely lacking in the morning). I can’t tell you how much time I have wasted after waking up by sitting in front of my closet and staring at my clothes.
4. Eat breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day… blah blah blah. I mean, yes, it is. BUT. It is also the meal of the day where eating a TON of sugar is not looked down upon. Fill up that cereal bowl! Pour the syrup on the pancakes! Dig in!
5. Play music while getting ready. Quietly, if you have a roommate. Or put in some earbuds. But really, nothing gets you more ready for the day than music! (And now you are actually awake to listen and sing along!)
